Skylark

Skylark is a drone detection and situational-awareness system developed and supplied by Chickenzown Ltd. It provides information about detected, compatible drone activity, with monitoring and recording functions for operational use and subsequent review.

The system is designed for airport and airfield environments. Other professional applications are considered against the organisation’s requirements and the suitability of the proposed installation.

Detailed technical information, installation requirements and commercial terms are provided directly to prospective customers.

Drone detection

Provides information about compatible drone activity detected by the system. Detection depends on the drone, installation and surrounding conditions.

Activity monitoring

Presents detected activity for operators to assess alongside other available information and their organisation’s established procedures.

Recording and review

Retains detection records for review, reporting and analysis. Available functions and service arrangements are set out in the agreed proposal.

Skylark is an unassured situational-awareness aid. It is not certified air traffic control equipment and must not be the sole basis for safety-critical or enforcement decisions.

It does not detect every drone. Detection coverage, accuracy and availability depend on compatibility, the installation and operating conditions. No detections does not mean that the airspace is clear.

Skylark is a detection and monitoring system, not a jamming, interception or takeover system. A detection does not, by itself, establish that a flight is unlawful.

Organisations remain responsible for the suitability of their installation, their operating procedures and the lawful handling and use of information.
